Worship the King – Encountering God in All Your Senses

I’ve heard about the nights of adoration at the Legionary’s house in Rye, but my schedule never permitted me to attend.  Pictures and words fall short of describing the beauty and sacredness of this evening.  The weather was perfect for a night on the porch and the 50 plus guests enjoyed catching up with one another.  Everything was arranged to make you feel welcome and comfortable… tiki torches lit the way up the driveway, a Mexican food truck cranked out delicious tacos and burritos, the hostesses had a cornucopia of homemade desserts and drinks and the tables were accented with fresh flowers and candles speaking without words…you are loved and special…I’m glad you came.  Then it was time for the main event, and the crowd once exuberant and chatty, almost instantly became reverent as we were alerted that the King was arriving.  In silent procession we moved to the tent following our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.  Fr Jorge led us in a guided meditation accompanied by reflective songs and lilting piano pieces.  Meanwhile, Fr Eric and Fr Daniel were on hand hearing confession.  After benediction the crowd moved back to the porch but no one wanted to leave.  We had shared something special together.
