In 2024, our NY Tri-State Regnum Christi family had the opportunity to meet Fr. Juan Ramón, LC, and support his beautiful mission. For years, he has dedicated his life to ensuring that thousands of children in Caracas, Venezuela receive an education in a safe and dignified environment at Mano Amiga, one of our Regnum Christi international schools.

Today, Mano Amiga serves nearly 1,300 children in underserved communities in Caracas, giving them the opportunity to achieve their dreams. The school provides essential life skills and vital support—including meals, healthcare, and faith-filled guidance—helping students build a brighter future.
This Lent, please prayerfully consider “adopting a child” for one year. With just $360, one student can receive a full year of food and education. Your generosity will make a profound impact and allow Mano Amiga to continue transforming lives through faith, knowledge, and love.

May God bless you.
Story of a 6th Grade Student. School Year 2025/2026
My name is José Ángel Castilla, and although I am only eleven years old and in 6th grade, I have had to learn what the silence of an empty house means. When I was barely in first grade, the light of my life went out: I lost my mother to cancer. Since then, I became a shy and reserved child, taking refuge in my thoughts while my father and grandmother tried to fill a void impossible to hide.
The afternoons at home are often difficult; sometimes the sadness feels heavy, and it’s hard for me to concentrate on my homework. Holidays like Christmas or Mother’s Day are reminders of what is no longer here. And just a few days ago, pain knocked on my door again: my maternal grandmother, who cared for me with so much love, also passed away.
In the midst of so much loss, the Mano Amiga Mariches Institute became my only safe haven. There, in my classroom, the silence is no longer one of sadness, but of concentration and peace. But last year, we were on the verge of losing everything. My father, overwhelmed by financial difficulties, told me with a broken heart that I would have to drop out of school. I felt like the last door keeping me afloat was closing.
That’s when the miracle happened. Mano Amiga didn’t abandon me; they reached out and helped me find a sponsor who offered a scholarship, which allowed me to continue my studies. That support was the driving force I needed to prove that, despite the challenges, I want to improve myself and make something of my life. Today I feel more committed than ever, my grades have improved, and although the nostalgia is still there, I am happy because I know I have a future.
I thank the benefactors from the bottom of my heart, because thanks to you, children like me don’t have to give up on our dreams when life gets tough. Your financial support is what allows Mano Amiga to continue rescuing lives like mine. Please help us ensure that hope never fades for those who need it most.
