I look forward to triduum each year as an opportunity to encounter God without the distractions of everyday life. But sometimes in my zeal for growth I approach prayer as something I need to DO better. (I believe many of my RC sisters fall into the same trap as I saw us arriving to a 3 day retreat with book bags filled with a years worth of spiritual reading!). This retreat helped put things back in proper perspective. I need to BE someone who prays. Someone who shows up and begins again. Who opens herself to God just a little bit. God can do a lot with very little. Even half a penny like the widow’s mite.
