It was a chilly but clear and spectacular night with many new and faithful Regnum Christi family and friends who gathered for our third Worship the King event. In addition, we had the presence of an abundance of children of all ages -Which is heartwarming to see.
The hospitality was amazing. The pristine property with all the trees, shrubs, and plants in glorious bloom looked amazing. Fr. Eric’s attention to every detail in setting up was evident throughout the event. The porch and comfortable seating areas were so welcoming, with all of the hanging lights, warming fires, and heating lamps blazing (much needed on a cold night with a wind whipping that made it feel like December instead of April ). Flickering torches graciously lit the path to the Adoration tent.
The food truck, perfectly placed, served delicious food. Everyone arriving up the hill started gathering at the food truck, began their greetings and conversations there, and then carried their dinners onto the porch.
Thanks to Carolina Cordova and her helpers, the porch tables were set up elegantly, with an abundance of drinks and enticing desserts. The joy and laughter carried to each corner of the porch, adding to the warmth that came from the fires and red wine!
At 7:30 pm, on cue, the children-heralds held up their signs announcing it was time for silence and to prepare to Worship the King. On each of these evenings, the quiet procession to the adoration tent is always so moving! This time the more than 50 attendees were serenaded by a welcoming chorus of birds, awakened by Spring, still chirping enthusiastically in the fading light of evening. You could not help but revel in God’s stunning creation all around us.
And then, our Lord Himself was carried in and was there before us. His real presence, illuminated by candlelight, emanated from the golden sunburst monstrance that could not contain Him as he filled our hearts with comfort and joy.
We settled into silence after the Exposition of the Eucharist. The trickling of the waterfall of Mary’s grotto nearby added to the peace and comfort of our intimate surroundings. Then Fr. Jorge began his meditations that further led us to adore Jesus’ wondrous presence profoundly.
The theme of Father’s reflections was God‘s divine and infinite mercy. His mercy, Fr. assured us, cures our afflictions beyondany other remedy. His healing is ours for the asking if we but acknowledge our need for it, and ask for it with humble and contrite hearts. God hears our prayers and is especially touched when we offer Him hymns of praise. Our prayers were certainly lifted up by the reverent music and singing that accompanied our worship of the King last night. Together we sang “We adore you, Lord!”
